Debut Success for Belinda
Brampton Park’s Belinda Borneo claimed a debut success in the Cambs and Hunts Division 1 competition held at Bourn. Despite the tricky conditions with sun, wind, rain and hail the former England International tennis player, produced a solid round of 82 to claim the top spot, four shots ahead of defending champion Tabitha Brain (Gogs).
In the nett competition Gog’s Sonia Hyvonen produced an excellent round of 73 to clinch top spot. Second place went to Bourn’s Linda Brown with a score of 78 on count back from Linda Clemmow (Bourn).
During the afternoon foursomes, after a brief flurry of snow the weather conditions improved slightly and Ann Norman and Kay Osborn (Brampton Park) put together an excellent round to score 35 pts. Second place went to Saffron Walden’s Delia Roberts and Linda Minton with 34 pts with Belinda Borneo and Shirley Osbourne (Brampton Park) in third place with 33 pts.
