In the semi-final Ely faced a strong Brampton Park team. The match was very evenly contested with the scores level at 3 all. Ros Grey of Ely held a two hole lead in the final match but Jane McGlashen pulled back to level the score on the 18th hole. The match moved onto the 19th hole and Ros Grey regained her composure to win the hole for a 4-3 match win for Ely.

In the other semi-final defending champions Saffron Walden faced Lakeside Lodge who were making their first ever appearance in the semi-finals. Saffron Walden took an early lead winning the top two matches, but Lakeside Lodge‘s Joanne Jones had a convincing 6 & 5 victory in the third match. Saffron Walden won the next two matches to clinch a 4-1 winning margin, with the remaining two matches being called in.

The final was played in mild but blustery conditions.   Saffron Walden took the lead when Lynda Minton won a very close match against Jane Webster.

Ely City gradually took the initiative when Pat Nixon levelled the scores with a 2 & 1 win over Elaine Purcell. They edged ahead when Anne Mitchell secured a 4 & 3 victory over Cath Emery and Christine Ratcliffe increased the lead with a similar score against Barbara Nicoll. Ros Grey, the hero of the morning match sealed victory with a convincing 8 & 6 victory to give Ely City a winning 4 – 1 margin. The remaining two matches were called in.
