Fantastic result as County Girls lift East Region Golf TrophyThe Cambs and Hunts Junior team travelled to Newton Green Golf Club in Suffolk to take part in the East Region Trophy. The competition involved teams of six players from Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambs and Hunts playing in different handicap bands. With thick fog shrouding the course play was delayed for nearly an hour.

Cambs and Hunts were represented by Junior Captain Jade Guest (Gogs) (Handicap 0-9), Morgan Tritton and Lucy Pepper (Gogs) (Handicap 10-15), Natasha Bamford (Ely City) and Jessica Hollingsworth (Handicap 16-24) and Lila-Bella Nacca (Meridian) (Handicap 25-30).

Once play got under way Jade Guest led the team and put in a solid performance to record a score of 33 pts. This was followed by scores of 30 and 29 by Morgan Tritton and Lucy Pepper. Natasha Bamford had an amazing round coming home with a magnificent score of 45 pts. Jessica Hollingsworth played very well to record a score of 29 points and Lila-Bella Nacca, the youngest member of the team played really well to score 28 pts. With the four best scores counting the Cambs and Hunts team score was 137 giving them victory over host county Suffolk by two points. This was a great team effort and as the girls finished their matches they went out on to the course to support and encourage their team mates.

Natasha also picked up the prize for the best overall score in the 16-24 category.
