CHLCGA was established in 1939
and currently has 19 affiliated golf clubs
and approximately 1500 affiliated lady golfers
Our main aim is to promote and support ladies’ and girls’ golf within Cambridgeshire.
We do this in a number of ways:
organise a whole range of individual and pairs competitions that are intended to be inclusive – essentially there is a competition for everyone, irrespective of handicap
run a range of inter-club competitions, which are well supported and played in a competitive, but friendly spirit
commit to developing and supporting low handicap players who can represent CHLCGA in regional and national competitions at 1st and 2nd team, veterans and junior levels (link to county teams)
give junior girls an introduction to the game with a structured development programme
participate in regional competitions, the most important of which are County Match Week (ladies) and County Match days (juniors)
As a County Association, we are part of England Golf and the East Region and we represent England Golf within Cambridgeshire by:
- disseminating information about England Golf strategy, policies and consultations
- providing advice about the CONGU handicapping system and rules of golf and responding to queries
- organising regional competitions
- undertaking course standard scratch assessments
